Dragon House—Our Favorite Hand-Pulled Noodles Dallas
We stumbled upon this gem by scrolling through Reddit threads, where locals raved about Dragon House having the best hand-pulled noodles in DFW—and they were spot on. Not only do the noodles taste fantastic, but the texture is perfect. They’re wide, flat, and perfectly paired with the broth. When you slurp them up, it actually feels like you’re eating something substantial. You know how some noodles and broth are so light you’re not even sure if you took a bite? Not here. Dragon House offers a satisfying, hearty meal, and the noodles were enough to leave us with leftovers for another round later.
It wasn’t just the noodles either. Everything we had was excellent, making this spot the best all-rounder, because yes, we dine-in for the hand-pulled noodles; however, we stay for the the whole feast. Oh! We also stay for the service!
Our experience wouldn’t have been the same without our amazing waitress, Mai. She’s awesome! Her effervescent personality, sense of humor, and stellar service were off the charts—15/10. We ended up swapping stories; we told her about our blog, she shared her son’s YouTube channel, and by the end, we were friends. And as a token of our friendship, she gave us the inside scoop: A new location is opening in Highland Village and eventually Dallas. Triple win!

What Makes a Good Hand-Pulled Noodle?
As you can see, there are quite a few hand-pulled noodle places in DFW, and this post doesn’t even come close to listing all of them. Just last month, we visited Hong Yuan and had an entire feast!
It was very yummy, and the noodles were definitely hand-pulled, but it was missing a little extra something for our taste palette. Especially when you compare the food to some of our past haunts. Man oh man. The best hand-pulled noodles used to be at Bushi Bushi in Addison. However, the man who pulled those noodles is now nowhere to be seen, and those dishes just don’t taste the same without him.
Where are we going with this? Well, what we’re trying to say is that not all hand-pulled noodles Dallas are created equal. And if we had to pin down what makes good hand-pulled noodles, we couldn’t because it depends on your preference.
The Broth
For me, Autumn, it’s the broth. Don’t get me wrong, it’s also how fresh the noodles taste, how perfect the chewiness is, how well they slurp into my mouth, and all that jazz. But in my opinion, almost all hand-pulled noodle joints ace the noodle part. The broth though — that’s more tricky. Broth is the unsung hero of hand-pulled noodles. It’s what brings everything together. It’s the foundation of a great dish. A good broth has depth; it’s savory, with layers of umami that elevate the entire experience.
The Noodle
Lexi disagrees. She thinks the key to a great hand-pulled noodle dish is the noodle itself, the shape, the texture, and the thickness. In her opinion, the best noodles have that perfect balance between chewiness and softness, a slight spring that gives just the right amount of resistance when you bite into them. She doesn’t want a thin noodle that gets lost in the broth. Instead, she loves when each noodle has a thick, slightly irregular shape, reminding you that they were crafted by hand and making every bite feel unique.
The Meat
For Rosie, it’s the meat. The noodles and broth may set the stage, but the meat is the star of the show. Tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, it’s what transforms a bowl of hand-pulled noodles from good to unforgettable. Whether it’s thin slices of beef or perfectly seasoned chicken, the meat adds richness and depth to every bite. Rosie believes that properly cooked and well-seasoned meat soaks up the broth’s flavors while adding its own, creating a perfect harmony in the bowl. Without that, no amount of great noodles or broth can save the dish for her.
What’s special about Dragon House is that it had all three. It wasn’t the best bowl of hand-pulled noodles we’ve ever had. Asia does it better, but it was dang good. Not only that, every item on the menu was also delicious!
Conclusion
If you’re trying to determine the best hand-pulled noodles in DFW, you need to determine what matters to you. Is it the broth, the noodles, or the meat?
