Discover Petit Four Dessert Cafe: Love!
Is Petit Four the best dessert cafe in DFW? It’s a strong possibility. Does Petit Four have the best pastry tarts in DFW? Without a doubt!
Autumn here. Something you need to know about me is that I love dessert. I have to have it at least once a day. Yes, I probably do have a minor sugar addiction, but do you know what I also have? Refined taste buds when it comes to confections. As someone who tries almost every dessert place I drive by, take my word for it — Petit Four is damn delicious!
Yeah, I said it, “damn delicious!” Here’s What’s Up Dallas!

Our Petit Four Dessert Cafe Experience
We came across Petit Four Dessert Cafe the way we do most dessert places. I demanded we pull over as we were driving by.
I confidently strode into the dessert shop and heavily eyed each cheesecake, pastry tart, and cookie. Because when it comes to desserts, I’m very particular, and there are two things I absolutely can’t stand:
- Lack of Moisture
- Sugar Overload
The first issue is simple: who wants a dry dessert that crumbles before you even take a bite? I’m fine with a little crunch, but I won’t settle for a dessert so dehydrated it could double as a paper towel. Unfortunately, this rules out many baked goods, especially those that have been sitting in the display case too long.
Thankfully, I could tell at a glance that Petit Four did not have this problem.
As for sugar overload, I swear that overly sweet desserts are just using a surplus of sugar to hide a lack of flavor. When desserts are done right, they don’t need to be overly sweet. Instead, you get spice notes like vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in every bite — flavors that make you want to reach for another mouthful. Sugar ≠ Flavor.
I ordered the Muscat Grape tart, and I sat down, ready to judge. I was blown away! It was damn delicious! The grapes burst in my mouth and paired perfectly with the gentle flavor of the tart cream. The crust was buttery, crumbling, then melting on my tongue. It was absolute perfection. Petit Four has mastered the perfect balance by creating a subtle base that highlights the flavors of perfectly ripe fruit and natural ingredients, making their desserts irresistibly delicious.
For my birthday, I requested to go back to Petit Four Dessert Cafe, but then I was torn. I mean, the tart is what captured my heart, but the other menu items (especially the cheesecake) are pretty damn good too. In the end, I ordered a strawberry croffle. And guess what? Petit Four delivered again, helping make my special day 100% perfect. In short, if you like desserts, get your butt over to Petit Four Dessert Cafe!
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Heyo. Lexi here, popping in with a little bit of what I call “good information”.
Petit Four reminds me of South Korea, my home away from home. And as someone who lived in South Korea for 2 years, that’s a big deal! Even though I can’t eat cheesecake – I’m severely lactose intolerant 🙁 – I’m still always excited to visit Petit Four!
While the dessert cafe has classic flavors that appeal to an American palette, like Chocolate Strawberry, they also have flavors that are unique to Korea and Asia at large.
For instance, while Sweet Corn might be a strange flavor here, it’s very common in Korea. (Don’t knock it until you try it!) The corn is so sweet that it usually results in a fun and tasty flavor! If you’re familiar with Korea, you might also know that chestnut, rice cake, and mugwort are also very culturally significant to Korea, which is why it was so nostalgic for me to see those tarts on the shelves.
Some other Asian flavors I recommend trying are the Matcha Royce, Lotus, Earl Grey, and Shine Muscat.
Matcha is a special kind of green tea that is primarily produced in Japan. Royce is my favorite international brand of chocolate. Matcha Royce is a flavor of chocolate made from the green tea.
The story of how Royce Chocolate became my favorite chocolate is so random! While I was living in Korea, I took several trips to Japan. On one trip, while I was waiting at the airport to go home, I saw a lot of people standing in line at a counter. I usually don’t like to wait in lines, but I had nothing better to do, and I wanted to see what everyone was getting at that counter! It turned out that they were all queuing for chocolate — Royce Chocolate!
I took some Royce home to my flat in Korea, tasted it, and that was that! Royce has been my favorite chocolate for the last ten years. Ever since, I’ve made sure to buy boxes and boxes every time I fly through the airport in Japan so that I can share it with my friends and family. Earlier this year, I took another wonderful trip to Japan and bought the Matcha flavor of Royce chocolate. To me, it was one of their best! So, I bet the Matcha Royce tart at Petit Four is to die for.
The next two flavors – Lotus and Earl Grey – well, those remind me of tea. And if you knew me personally, you’d know I’m obsessed with tea. I think a solid tea flavor makes an excellent dessert!
And last but not least, there’s the Shine Muscat Tart (Autumn’s favorite). In Asia, people really love premium fruit. High-quality fruit is a fantastic seasonal treat and often serves as a prized gift. This luxury fruit is very popular, sought after, and expensive, which is why the Shine Muscat Tart is one of the more expensive desserts at the cafe. Fun fact!
Honestly, I could go on and on, but I hope that this background information helps show why Petit Four Dessert Cafe is so special. 😊
