Look up! It’s a bird, it’s a plane — No, it’s you, soaring through the air on brilliantly colored silk. Or maybe it’s you with skin glistening after completing a couple of Dallas pole dancing classes like the badass that you are!
Pole, Silks and Lyra
Have you ever dreamed of moonlighting as an acrobat? Probably not, but now you can! It’s as easy as attending dance fitness classes at Altitude Fitness. In our opinion, the best Dallas pole dancing classes are not actually in Dallas proper. They’re in Frisco and Flower Mound, the two locations for Altitude Fitness. Offering Pole, Silks, Lyra, and general fitness classes for all skill levels, this place is amazing.
And the cherry on top? Altitude Fitness classes aren’t just a good time — they’re super affordable too, with constant deals and promotions that’ll keep your wallet happy.

Dallas Pole Dancing Classes | Our Experience:
We really enjoy writing these blog posts! We’ve gotten comfortable with it too. So comfortable in fact, that we can share our pole dancing hobby online without batting an eye. Autumn and Lexi here! We’ve been to more pole dancing lessons than we can count, and each one is a blast and a full-body workout!
Even when we were separated — with one of us staying in DFW and the other going to college abroad —we still kept pole dancing. I joined a pole dancing club at my university (I was surprised that existed too!) and Lexi went to classes at Altitude Fitness. Now, we have a pole in our garage and dreams of doing a Jade Split (Lexi says she’s almost there).
What’s funny is, though we take the same classes, we’re very different pole dancers. Lexi is all about the dance, learning choreography and crafting full routines. Meanwhile, I’m obsessed with the complicated spins and tricks. If pole dancing were gymnastics, Lexi would dominate the floor routine, while I’d be all about the bars.
Speaking of gymnastics, you can try Silks and Lyra too, basically gymnastics in the air. We recommend giving all three a shot because you never know which one will click with you!
And once you find your groove, lean in! But don’t just lean into the pole, lean into the community too!
We not only became friends with all our classmates, but also with all our instructors. We adore Abby (though her level 2+ classes are lethal) and Dee (her choreography is no joke), and Allison (the amazing owner of Altitude Fitness in Flower Mound).
Seriously, if you’re looking for a new hobby, sign up for a class! Do it for the plot! 😉 And the exercise! We swear, you will be sore in places you didn’t even know existed. And as a bonus, your balance, flexibility and strength will become top-notch.
Owner Interview:
It’s been absolutely incredible to watch the Flower Mound studio grow, and we’re so happy to have Allison share what makes Altitude Fitness a standout spot in the DFW area!
Can you tell us the story behind Altitude Fitness Village?
Well, back in 2013, I was taking classes at Altitude Fitness in Frisco. Somewhere around 2017, I got laid off and was like, well now what? I was still looking for a regular job, but I asked Trisha, the owner in Frisco, “what do you think about expanding your brand?”
And she was like, “sure, why not, girl?” So, that’s kind of how we started, and then I opened my location in Flower Mound in 2018.
How do you think Altitude Fitness adds to the larger Dallas-Fort Worth community?
What I hope we are adding is a safe space for people to come and express themselves in a unique way, and what I hope we are sending out are students who have gained confidence, strength and self-esteem, as well as the proof that they can do anything that they put their minds to.
One of the initiatives we’re proud to sponsor is “Slay the Stage,” which was created by business owner and local pole instructor, Ashley Robinson. We — really Ashley and team — put on four shows every year, and it’s for the entire DFW area, for anybody who is an aerialist, a pole dancer, a burlesque dancer, any kind of circus anything. I think we’ve even had tap dancers before.
So it’s for anybody who wants to show off their skills, or what they’ve learned, or dip a toe into performing before they do a competition or something. I think it’s also just a great way for us to bring the community together.
What do you hope people feel after coming to an Altitude Fitness class?
I hope they feel challenged with every class, but not only that, I hope they feel accomplished too. We all hit those bumps in the road where you don’t have the greatest class. But I think people come back because they’re like, I’m gonna get that!
I also hope that while they’re here, they develop the confidence to be part of our showcases and become the performers they are deep down inside, because I think that that means that their confidence is growing, and that’s our main goal!
How do you work towards inclusivity in Altitude Fitness?
So inclusivity, that’s been part of our core since Altitude opened in Frisco in 2013.
That’s just who we are, it’s what we do. We’ve always welcomed people from all walks of life through our doors, and that won’t ever change.
I feel like some days you look around you’re, like, oh we’re just all the misfits, right? Because a lot of people we get are people that don’t feel like they fit in anywhere else. They don’t like to go to the gym because, you know, maybe they’re not in the best shape, and then you get stared at. But here it’s like, we don’t care. Come in, do your thing, get fit, and have fun while you’re doing it.
I feel like that is part of our inclusivity. Just come in, find your happy place, and keep coming.
What’s your vision for Altitude Fitness?
We want to keep growing, right? So, I feel like we’re always working to improve the space. I’m always looking to add new classes too. Hopefully in the future we’ll be able to add different apparatuses like trapeze and rope.
So those are all the goals that we have. But mostly we just want people to keep coming, to grow our studio base, and to keep making people happy.

Absolutely Need to Know:

But what about what we think you need to know?
- The Deals: We are telling you, look out for the deals! If nothing else, snatch yourself a discount. Sign up for a membership, buy a class pack, whatever you have to do. Our advice? Sign up for emails, follow the socials and check the websites, because there is always a deal to be had, and sometimes, the deals are just phenomenal (especially around August and the Holidays). Did you see Frisco’s Pole + Recovery membership?! $7.71 per class?! Amazing! We go to the Flower Mound location and usually pay between $10-$15 every lesson. Can’t beat it!
- The Difference: The two locations have different classes and different prices. Check out the previous section as well as the basic information section to get an idea of what we’re talking about.
- The Scheduling: You want to take a class. We want you to take a class. What’s the problem? There’s no problem — as long as you schedule ahead of time. I would not recommend dropping in because classes often get full. They also might get cancelled if there’s not enough people signed up. So, sign up just in case! To book a class and reserve your spot, click here for the Frisco location and click here for the Flower Mound location. The Flower Mound location will give you an option to download an app, and we recommend you do that! Booking through the app is way easier and super convenient.
