Best Boba Pearls: OneZo
First but certainly not the last is OneZo! Please don’t think we’re listing these places in the order of our favorites. Every boba shop on this list is our favorite. Asking us to choose only one would be cruel and unusual punishment. That said, we’re writing about OneZo first because it was the first place to introduce us to truly unforgettable boba in Dallas!
Known for its fresh, handmade tapioca pearls, OneZo is a renowned bubble tea chain that originated in Taiwan and expanded internationally, bringing its unique style of bubble tea to various locations—including Carrollton, just outside of Dallas. If you’re searching for the best boba in Dallas, this spot absolutely deserves a visit.
Amazing Boba Flavors
For a while there, we were drinking bubble tea at OneZo every single week. Because get this: they have flavored boba they make from scratch! It’s amazing. Not only that, they are constantly adding and swapping out flavors. They always have the usual brown sugar boba, but it’s the other flavors that really get us excited: peach, dragonfruit, pandan, ube, strawberry, yuzu, sesame, you name it! We wish we could list more but there have been so many, our brains can’t hold on to them all. These little flavored tapioca balls can make the drink, because, once you find the right pairing, magic!
Every time we go, we ask to try the new flavor of boba (yes, you can that). We stuff our sample-laden toothpicks in our mouths, smack our lips and have a conference, theorizing about which drinks would be amplified by these new additions. At this point, it’s become a ritual.
We’ve gotten scary good at choosing the right combinations, and the fun thing is there’s always a new combination to try! Onezo also posts their Boba flavors for the entire week, so if there’s one you really want to experience, you can always come back or call ahead. But we like being surprised!

Worth Mentioning
A few more things to mention: At OneZo, the drinks (and boba) tend to run sweet, so for most orders, we recommend lowering the sweetness to 0% or 25%. Additionally, one of the best times to go to OneZo is during the weekend, because on Saturday, they always have local creators selling their merchandise, generally anime-themed.
Speaking of anime, we’re pretty sure they also have a 10% off cosplay discount, and they definitely have a bunch of posters advertising different events in the area like local anime conventions. Fun, right? In general, OneZo is a great place to hang out, offering bubble tea, games and events (check their social media)! There’s also great restaurants nearby because it’s on a fantastic strip. Truly, if you’re a bubble tea fanatic and you haven’t already gone, make the trip.
#1 Reason We Chose OneZo:
The Flavored Boba Pearls
Favorite Drinks:
- Lexi: Spring Tea with Matcha Flavored Boba
- Autumn: The Drink of the Week
- Rosie: Passion Fruit Tea with a Random Flavor of Boba (but often brown sugar. It’s a can’t miss!)
Pssst. They have good smoothies too. Try the mango smoothie with brown sugar boba!
Best Selection: Yifang
Yum. Just yum. We are so happy that YiFang exists. For fruit tea lovers, YiFang is the ultimate bubble tea haven.
Named after the founder’s grandmother, Yifang is dedicated to preserving traditional Taiwanese tea culture while innovating with fresh, natural ingredients. The brand quickly gained popularity for its authentic and high-quality drinks, and the Plano location is just one part of this global franchise. If you’re searching for the best boba tea near me, Yifang is a must-visit!
It’s also the joint for bubble fruit tea. There are so many fruit tea options and they are all SO GOOD! When we want great boba, we go to OneZo, but when we want great fruit tea, Yifang is hands-down our go-to. But that’s not to say they don’t have great boba pearls too, because trust us, they do!
Tradition perfected, the boba has just the right consistency and with a wonderfully classic taste. It also runs on the smaller side which has the added benefit of sucking up into your straw nicely, meaning you get a wonderful collection of boba with every sip of your drink. And Yifang doesn’t skip on the amount either, so you don’t have to worry about running out of the pearls before your drink is finished. There are a bunch of other topping options too if you’re interested!

One of our favorite things about Yifang is that it’s open so late! We can’t tell you how many times we strolled in at 10:30 PM to get our boba fix. We’re often not alone either. There is usually a group of people talking, sipping and contributing to a chill but lively atmosphere. YiFang is located in a great spot as well! Just down the road is Kura’s Revolving Sushi Bar (we 100% prefer the Plano location!) and practically next door is Kooksoo, one of our favorite restaurants! So, if you’re in Plano and going to be out late, you know where to go!
#1 Reason We Chose Yifang:
The Specialty Fruit Tea
Favorite Drinks:
- Lexi: Their New Peach Tea with Boba
- Autumn: Lychee Fruit Tea with Boba (Love eating the Lychee Fruit afterward!)
- Rosie: Still deciding! So many drinks left to try!
Best Artisan Tea: Redstraw
Listen. This tea is high quality. We’re not lying when we say it’s one of the best tea establishments (if not the best tea establishment) in DFW. Usually, when we search for the best boba tea near me, we’re all about the boba. However, when we go to Redstraw, sometimes we skip the extras and just savor the tea itself!
Originally founded in California, Redstraw Tea Bar is a popular beverage shop that offers drinks with a modern twist. The Carrollton location offers a very wide range of drinks and definitely deserves a spot on your “must-try” list.
Menu Highlights
We feel like a few examples will say more than our words ever could, so take a look at some of the drinks on their menu:
- Organic Matcha Mojito: Organic matcha green tea mixed with in-house organic mojito
- Organic Rooibos Milk Tea: Original Thai tea topped with organic sea salt cream
- New Zealand Sunny Slopes: Delicious blend of natural kiwi, strawberry, apple and other natural fruit. High in Vitamin C
- Dalgona Cold Brew Coffee: Cold brew latte with dalgona (toasty Korean sugar candy)
Don’t try to tell us that isn’t amazing. Such a win to have this tea bar open a location in DFW! Though they tend to run sweet, all the drinks are fantastic. That said, we show up for the tea blends! They’ve got black tea, green tea, oolong tea, chai tea, herbal tea and fruit tisanes. They’re doing something special with each type of tea too! That’s one of the reasons why they’re menu is Extensive with a capital “E”.

Best Fruit Tea Specialty Drink: Nature’s Brew
The boba drink above was so good, half of it disappeared by the time we remembered to take a photo. Whoopsie! 😅 We saw Nature Brew on our Instagram feed, and although we were skeptical that it would be as good as people claimed, we gave it a shot. And we’re so glad we did!
Nature Brew is a delicious bubble tea shop in Plano and Carrollton, and it’s an absolute a standout for anyone craving an exceptional boba drink.
The first boba drink we tried took us back to Malaysia. Not kidding. We once had this amazing bubble tea in Malaysia, and no other boba could compare—UNTIL last week when we had the Happy Fruit Tea from Nature Brew. Man, we were downing that entire cup and scooping out the fruit afterward to get every last bit. The drink had mango, watermelon, orange, and all kinds of fruit. It was so delicious, almost beyond reason. It was the kind of boba drink that reminded you why you love boba in the first place.

Given that we’re such huge fruit tea lovers, we might only be ordering the Happy Fruit Tea for a while. That said, many of the drinks, especially the milk teas, have gotten rave reviews! So whatever bubble tea you enjoy, give Nature Brew a try!

Boba in Dallas Honorable Mentions:
These honorable mentions will do in a pinch! We’ve had a lot of boba drinks, and we’ve learned a thing or two about finding the best boba in Dallas. Whether you’re getting a smoothie from Vivi Bubble Tea in Frisco or trying a traditional Filipino drink at Tea Town in Plano, there’s a method to finding above -average boba. All you need to do is steer away from boba shops that are in the mall, on a street devoid of anything else Asian, or a local frozen yogurt shop.
The best boba in Dallas will tend to come from a dedicated store with a loyal clientele (read: rarely empty) and often located in a little Asian complex surrounded by other great spots. So, Tiger Sugar, Gong Cha, etc. — all safe bets. Even if you can’t have the absolute best, never settle for the worst. Get yourself some good bubble tea, and when you can, take our advice and treat yourself to the very best!
Summary:
To summarize, get flavored boba pearls at OneZo, fruit tea at YiFang, custom tea blends at Redstraw and the Happy Fruit Tea drink at Nature’s Brew. If you can’t do any of these, get boba from a dedicated store, ideally in a complex with other Asian eats. And there you have it! Now you know the best boba in DFW and how to find good boba anywhere.
