An Honest Review of Dallas Cidercade

“All you can play for just $12!”
Those words had me doing a double take, turning to my friend with wide eyes — unlimited games for what?! $12?! Naturally, being someone who’s always on the hunt for a great deal, my interest was immediately piqued. Autumn here, yep, me again. I’d heard people mention Dallas Cidercade before, but never the price — and that’s a shame, because I definitely would’ve been there forever ago if I’d known!
“I’m in.” The words spontaneously leapt out of my mouth. Without hesitation, I pulled out a crumpled $20 bill and decided to drive over to Cidercade. Despite my enthusiasm, however, suspicion lingered. Was this going to be like a Spirit Airlines flight, where you think you’re getting a deal, only to be hit with fee after fee? Or was this, in fact, legit?

I entered the Cidercade Dallas arcade bar warily, but I exited a happy customer. I’m thrilled to report, it’s totally legit! My friend and I spent hours playing games, hanging out on the back patio, eating cheap junk food from the vending machines and overall having a great time! All for just $12, plus food and drink! And guess what? The refreshments were well-priced too, and no one was trying to aggressively sell us anything. It was fantastic!
Wash, Rinse, Repeat

Within a month, I was headed back to Cidercade with my friend and sisters in tow — except when I got there, I left almost immediately! Oh, my gosh . . . Cidercade is wayyyyyyy too busy on a Saturday afternoon! Before, when I’d gone on a random Thursday night, it was half-empty, lit up with cozy lights, and filled with the wonderful sounds of people having fun. However, on Saturday, it was packed to the brim. Those ‘cozy lights’ suddenly felt blinding, and the cacophony of sounds made my head swim.

“Too many people.” Before my sisters and friend could could even walk in the door, I was already shaking my head. “It’s way too crowded. We can’t.” But if we left, where would we go? That would mean no arcade, right? Wrong!
Like I mentioned previously, there are 15+ arcades in DFW, and thankfully, we knew the exact Dallas arcade bar we wanted to visit next!
Our Favorite Dallas Arcade Bar: Round Two

Less than 15 minutes from Cidercade (the most popular Dallas arcade bar) lies our favorite Dallas arcade bar: Round Two. Located in Bishop Arts, this place is surrounded by fantastic shops and eateries. Once you figure out parking, which is admittedly a bit of a struggle, you have access to THE BEST DEAL EVER!

All you can play arcade games for just $5! You read it; fie dolla!

This place is beyond great, and it’s so fun too! The vibes are right, and the bar is super affordable! For us, this is the best Dallas arcade bar, not only for the price but also for the location and game selection. If you’re super into retro games, this is the place for you. Yeah, there’s air hockey and basketball and special gaming bays. But where this place really shines is in its selection of classic arcade games. Think Frogger, Mario, Pac-Man, Asteroids, Donkey Kong, etc.
It’s a frickin blast to the past, and we love it!

All of the games have the option for solo play, which is great because that means you can have a good time all by yourself! Most games also have a two-player mode, which means you can bring a friend and try to conquer one of the harder games that invites team play (or you can duel your friend in battle — but the cooperative games are way more fun)!
